  1. Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Plano, Texas.

2. What high school did you attend?

I attended Williams High School and Plano East Senior High school in Plano, Texas.

3. What was your favorite extracurricular activity in high school?

I played the double bass in my high school’s orchestra.

4. Why did you come to UT?

UT’s strong CS department and in-state tuition was very appealing to me.

5. Why are you majoring in CS?

I took computer science courses in high school and really enjoyed the aspect of creating something useful with code.

6. Why are you in this class?

I want to improve my software developing skills to apply them in the future.

7. What are your expectations of this class?

I expect to be putting in a lot of effort to learn and develop new skills. I also hope to make new friends.

8. How much Javascript/Python/SQL/Web programming do you already know?

I love working in Javascript and React. I also know a bit of SQL, but I haven’t used it since high school.

9. How did you like the two lectures?

I enjoyed the Docker lecture, and I thought it was very interesting and informative.

10. How did you feel about the cold calling?

I want to say I don’t mind, but deep down I still feel nervous even though I haven’t been picked yet, haha. I do understand that it is a good way to learn, though.

11. What made you happy this week?

I got my first computer monitor today! Hopefully it will help me be more productive.

12. What’s your tip-of-the-week?

Turning a monitor 90 degrees to make the display vertical can help when reading PDFs and eBooks.
